Function: The RJT nut is the securing mechanism of the union. It screws onto the male part of the fitting, compressing a hygienic O-ring seal between the male part and the liner to create a leak-proof, sanitary connection. Its hexagonal shape allows for easy tightening and disassembly using a standard RJT spanner, making it ideal for systems that require frequent cleaning or maintenance.
Material: RJT nuts are typically made from Grade 304 stainless steel. This grade offers excellent corrosion resistance and durability. The other "wetted" parts of the union (male part and liner) are typically made from the more corrosion-resistant Grade 316 stainless steel.
