Dowel Pins


Dowel pins are hardened and precision ground cylindrical pins and are usually used as locating devices.

They are machined to tight tolerances on the diameter usually with an m6 tolerance, meaning they are slightly oversize for an interference fit.

The corresponding holes are usually reamed to allow for a press fit, clearance fit or transition fit.

Hardened dowel pins are either plain or tapped, also known as extractable dowel pins.

Available in steel and stainless steel with Metric or imperial standard measurements to DIN, ISO 8734 or BS 1804.
