HANDRAIL & FITTINGS

Handrail fittings are used with plain end galvanised tube and come in sizes from ¾”nb to 2”nb.

They are a malleable casting which is galvanised to BS EN1461.

The tube is secured to the fitting by means of a stainless steel threaded screw which is tightened using an Allen key or hex bit.

For strength critical applications it is recommended to use a hex bit with a torque wrench and when tightened to a torque of 4.1kg/m the screw will withstand an applied slip load of 900kg.

These fittings can be used for many purposes including handrails, guardrails, fencing, racking and play equipment amongst others, as no welding takes place it is very easy to dismantle if required.

Clamps are available in five sizes as shown below, to order please quote the reference number of the fitting followed by the size of tube. For example a short tee to suit a tube OD of 48.3mm would be a 101D.
