CARBON STEEL ANSI B16.9

ANSI B16.9 fittings, often referred to as ASME B16.9 fittings, are the American standard for factory-made wrought butt-welding pipe fittings used in industrial pressure piping systems.

 They are designed to match ASME B36.10/B36.19 pipes and provide strong, permanent, leak-proof connections in demanding applications such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, and power generation.

  • Standardization: Conforms to the ASME B16.9 standard, which covers dimensions, tolerances, ratings, testing, and marking for fittings in sizes from NPS 1/2 through NPS 48 (DN 15 through DN 1200).

  • Pressure Rating: Pressure ratings are determined by the material grade and the pipe's wall thickness (specified by a schedule number, such as Sch40, Sch80, Sch160, XXS), rather than a specific pressure class like with flanges.
