A DIN blank nut is a round, slotted component used with a corresponding blank disc or blank liner to securely seal off the end of a hygienic pipeline connection, following the DIN 11851 standard.
Function and Material
Function: The blank nut (which often comes as a single piece incorporating a blanking cap) screws onto a standard DIN male fitting. It compresses a hygienic seal to provide a reliable, leak-proof closure for unused ports or lines during maintenance, cleaning processes (CIP), or when an extension of the line is not immediately required.
Material: The external nut component is made from Grade 304 stainless steel. The internal "blank" or "blank liner" part of the assembly, which contacts the product, is made from the more corrosion-resistant Grade 316 or 316L stainless steel.
Standard: Manufactured in accordance with the German standard DIN 11851 for hygienic applications.
Key Features
Secure Sealing: Forms a high-pressure seal with the addition of a standard D-section or lipped DIN gasket.
Ease of Use: The round, slotted design allows for easy tightening and removal using a C-spanner or hook spanner.
Accessories: These are frequently sold as a "Blank Nut & Chain" assembly, with the blank cap secured by a stainless steel chain to prevent it from being misplaced.
