J bolts, often called hook bolts, are specialized fasteners used to secure corrugated roofing or cladding sheets to a building's structural frame —typically angle iron or channel purlins.
How They Work
The "J" or hook shape is designed to wrap around the edge of a metal beam. This allows the bolt to stay in place and resist turning while you tighten the nut from the outside, which is especially useful when you don't have access to the underside of the roof.
