PHILIDAS NUT

Philidas nuts are specialized all-metal self-locking fasteners recognized for their unique slotted collar (turret) design. They provide a mechanical friction grip by "de-pitching" the threads in the collar section, creating a wedge-like action against the bolt that prevents loosening even under severe vibration.

While all Philidas nuts are all-metal and temperature-resistant, they are categorized by their specific locking intensity and reusability: 

Philidas Industrial Nut

The most versatile "workhorse" of the range. It features two slots cut in the same plane within the collar.

  • Best For: General industrial use, rail network maintenance, and automotive sectors.
  • Torque: Offers high torque resistance to vibration.

 

Philidas Turret Nuts

Originally designed for the aircraft industry. It features two slots positioned one above the other.

  • Best For: Applications requiring frequent assembly and disassembly.
  • Torque: Provides a lower prevailing torque than the Industrial type, which allows for superior reusability without losing locking effectiveness.
