A2 stainless steel studding connectors, often referred to as 304 grade, offer a balance of excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical strength, making them the standard choice for outdoor applications, food processing, and general engineering.
Performance Characteristics
Corrosion Resistance: Highly resistant to rust in freshwater and typical outdoor environments. However, they are prone to "pitting" in saltwater; for coastal or marine use, A4 (316) is required.
Temperature Range: Maintains structural integrity from cryogenic temperatures up to approximately 800 degrees C.
Non-Magnetic: Generally non-magnetic, though they can become slightly magnetic during the cold-heading manufacturing process.
Galling (Thread Seizing): Stainless steel is prone to galling. It is highly recommended to use a nickel-based anti-seize lubricant when tightening A2 nuts onto A2 bolts to prevent the threads from cold-welding together.
